Jakarta - Girlband dengan personel terbanyak AKB48 membuat pemilihan untuk "center" alias ratu terbaru mereka. Setelah voting yang panjang akhirnya Oshima Yuko terpilih sebagai jawaranya. Oshima yang berasal dari Team K AKB48 meraih posisi tersebut dengan jumlah voting sebanyak 108.837 suara. Sementara runner-up diraih Watanabe Mayu dari Team B dengan angka 72.574 suara. Kapten Team B Kashiwagi Yuki ditempat ketiga dengan jumlah suara 71.076. Dara berusia 24 tahun itu berhasil mengalahkan 236 personel lainnya dari 48 grup. Oshima berlinang air mata saat dinobatkan sebagai "ratu" baru dalam girlband tersebut. Dalam AKB48 ada sebuah pemilu bernama Susenkyo yang diadakan setiap tahunnya. Ke-68 anggota AKB48 bisa berpartisipasi dalam pemilihan tersebut. Mereka mendapatkan suara dari para penggemarnya di Jepang dan dunia lewat internet. Juara 1 hingga 16 yang diberi nama Senbatsu bisa berkesempatan tampil di single berikutnya dan akan lebih sering eksis ketimbang member lain. Sebelumnya Oshima telah memenangkan pemilihan tersebut dua tahun lalu dan menjadi "ratu" AKB48. Who did you root for? — As Maeda Atsuko announced through AKB48’s official channel on April, she withdrew from the general election due to her graduation.
